FAQ
Questions about the Firmora kit
Here you will find detailed answers about how the Firmora string art kit, our online generator and your activation code work, from unboxing the kit to hanging your finished artwork.
What is Firmora?
Firmora is a creative string art kit that lets you turn your own photo into a large minimalist thread portrait. Inside the box you receive a prepared board with nails, premium monofilament thread and access to our step by step digital instructions.
Once finished, your Firmora piece becomes a striking centerpiece in your home, drawing attention and adding a gallery feel to your space.
I received the kit. What should I do next?
Begin by opening the package and finding the printed paper manual. Take a moment to read the instructions from beginning to end so you understand each element inside the box.
Then visit the web address or scan the QR code indicated in the manual, enter your Firmora code, upload your photo and choose whether you prefer the interactive online tutorial or a downloadable PDF guide.
Which image should I choose for the best result?
The best photos for Firmora are usually close ups of a single person or a couple with clear, contrasting lighting and a calm background.
Strong light on the face and clear contours help the thread lines stand out. Very dark, blurry or very busy photos are harder to translate into clean string art.
How do I upload an image?
1. Go to our generator using the link or QR code in your kit.
2. Enter the unique Firmora code from the card inside the box.
3. Upload your photo and adjust the crop if needed.
4. Select the design option you like best.
5. Start assembling using the online guide or the PDF instructions.
How can I change the narration speed or background sound?
In the interactive Firmora guide you can customise your experience. You are free to choose relaxing music or silence, select a voice and adjust the playback speed.
A higher speed helps you complete your Firmora composition faster, while a slower speed creates a more meditative, mindful process.
What if I do not know which image to choose?
You can look at our inspiration gallery in the online generator to see examples of photos that work particularly well as string art.
If you are still not sure, you can email us several of your favourite photos. We will let you know which images will translate best into a Firmora portrait.
How many times can I download the assembly instructions?
Your code allows you to view and preview your design as many times as you like in the generator.
However, you can download or generate the full assembly instructions a maximum of three times. You have three opportunities to create complete projects, so confirm the design only when you are satisfied.
Can I pause the assembly process and resume later?
Yes. You can pause the assembly process at any time and easily resume right where you left off.
The guide is step based and the audio player lets you pause playback or adjust the voice speed as needed, so you can always continue at your own pace.
Does my Firmora code expire?
There is no strict expiration date built into the code in your kit. You can access the generator whenever you are ready to begin.
Simply keep your activation card safe and start your project when the timing is right for you.
Can I purchase an additional code for more designs?
Yes. If you want to create more than three designs or make gifts for several people, you can purchase an additional activation code from our website.
This allows you to reuse your board and nails while generating new instructions for new artworks.
How do I upload a photo and select a design variant?
First, click the upload a photo button in the generator and enter the code from your kit.
Then upload your image, adjust the scale and position, preview the design variations and select the one you like most.
When you press next to confirm, one of your three attempts is used to generate detailed instructions for that design.
How can I access the tutorial again if I already created instructions but closed it?
After you generate the instructions you receive an email from us with a link to your personal tutorial.
Simply open that link to continue where you left off. In the interface you can also access a help option to jump to a specific step without re using your code.
What are the dimensions and materials of the base and thread?
The Firmora base with nails is approximately 50 by 50 centimetres, with the printed image slightly smaller to create a clean border.
The board is made from high quality painted medium density fibreboard and the thread is a durable nylon monofilament designed to keep its tension and clarity over time.
Do I need any special skills to use the Firmora kit?
No special skills are required. Firmora is designed to be enjoyable for everyone, regardless of experience level.
Our guide walks you step by step through the process, and you can adjust the speaker speed so that you never feel rushed. If you get lost, it is easy to find your place again and continue.
How long does the assembly process take?
On average, assembling one Firmora artwork takes around six to eight hours in total.
You can break the project into several sessions if you prefer. Many people enjoy working on their piece over a few evenings or weekends.
How many designs can I create with one kit?
You can upload as many photos as you like into the generator to preview possible designs.
However, you can only generate three sets of assembly instructions per activation code. This means you can create up to three full portraits with a single Firmora kit by reusing the board and nails like a new canvas each time.
Can I get a preview of my photo as Firmora art before purchase?
If you would like to preview the result before purchasing a kit, you can email your chosen photo to our support team.
We will help you understand how it would look as a Firmora string art piece and, when possible, provide a quick visual preview.
What type of photo should I upload for the best design result?
For the best results, we recommend photos that are not overly detailed. Portraits with one or two people or animals, clear lighting and a simple background tend to work beautifully.
If you are not happy with the first preview you can simply upload new photos until you find the image that feels just right.
Where can I upload my photo after receiving my kit?
Once you receive your Firmora kit, go to the generator address or QR code mentioned in your manual.
From there you can upload your photo directly, enter your code and start generating your unique design.
Where can I find the shipping rates for my order?
You can check the current shipping rates on our website on the dedicated shipping or delivery information page.
Prices and delivery times may vary depending on your country and the carrier used.
Can I change my shipping address after placing an order?
We can usually change the shipping address within a short time after your order is placed, before it is processed by our fulfilment team.
Once the parcel has been handed over to the carrier, the address can no longer be changed by us. In that case you can contact the courier directly to see if they can update the delivery address.
What should I do if some items are missing from my kit?
If something is missing, please contact us by email with your order number, a description of the missing items and photos of the contents and packaging.
Our team will review the situation and help you quickly with a replacement of the missing parts or another suitable solution.
How do I return my Firmora kit?
If you wish to return your kit, please reach out to us first so we can guide you through the return process and conditions.
In general, the shipping packaging should not be seriously damaged and the set must be unused for the return to be accepted, unless the product arrived defective.
